After Phillip D?s post I had to share some of the Junkshow collection. Memories of years gone by when small town businesses would hand out useful premiums to loyal customers.

We?ve got a pretty good start. 3 walls and some shelves of hand tools, camelback and post drills, metal frame power tools, early floor set equipment, and a wood frame treadle lathe. My hunt now is for vintage cloth carpenter aprons.

A great display!!! I have a number of old wrenches, monkey wrenches, wooden folding
rulers and several other things I wish to display, similar to your board.
My question is: How do you clean the fuzzy rust off tools?
Solid rust is OK. Just need to be clean, so they don't "shed"!!
I have a small vibratory cleaner, I say small. Can't put stuff over 6" long in it.
I cleaned the wooden folding rulers with Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush.
Worked good. I thinking of monkey wrenches, old wrenches that are 8-10-12 inches long.
Powered soft wire wheel brush?? Or??
Any suggestions are welcome!!!
Also did you use small wire or zip ties to fasten the tools to the board??

Will electralisis work? (I am going to let that mis spelling stand) Just a plastic container full of water, to hold the metal tool, with washing soda mixed in, and a tractor battery to run it. Look it up on google, and spell it better than I did!

electrolysis works for you? or electrolosis? First spelling will pass the spellcheck thing. Second one, not so much.

Bowlus...and Mondloch and Ehresmann? Sounds like Northern and Western Stearns County, St. Martin? With a touch of the little northern town?

I thought of that. Just getting started with this project.
also thought of an ultrasonic cleaner also.

Bingo. You know your geography. The cruddy one is from Schiffler Farm Equipment in Albany. Back when Al and Martz owned it.

You know, if you are unsure of spelling, highlight the word, right click then click Search Google for "electralisis". Boom, there's the right spelling.

Spellcheck is an unmitigated disaster.
