you guys had me thinking it wasn't a turbo so had a diesel mechanic look at it and it was a turbo so five days and 1,175.00 later, 150.00 core charge back up and runnin??.[broke the fins off the exhust side] thanks everybody for your answers
 
Good to hear the follow up. Glad you got it up and running again. My son tells me that if money can fix your problem, that's the kind of a problem to have.
 
It is amazing the amount of abuse a turbo will take,,,I have seen them glowing from across a head land in the night, round after round when they go through a tuff spot,,most of the old 4630's that I have worked on in the past had the Deere label scorched ....
 
I ran a test 15L one night on a overload/overfuel test and if the lights were off you could see find spinning thru the red housing. Also had a 19L rail engine(lays on it side) that got the manifold so hot it sagged down.
