I am so happy about what happened for me yesterday I can't help myself
but post it. I rake hay and some other odds and ends for my Grandson
and yesterday here he come with two John Deere 1065A running gear for my dump wagon building hobby. I expected nothing for helping the young man out from time to time
but apparently it is appreciated and that makes me extremely happy. He had traveled
about 40 miles away to find these two dandies so it took allot of his afternoon.
We hear so much about the younger generation not wanting to work and have it all
handed to them but my Grandson and his wife make me proud for sure.
Thanks for letting a old crow puff his feather a little.
 
That's great! Sounds like a great young man.

I'm curious, tell us more about the dump wagon hobby.

Thank you for the kind words. Every year I build 2 or 3
wagons with a hoist to sell and have come to use only Deere 1065's
because they sell well. I have trouble posting pictures but will open my email
and if you answer to it I will send you pictures. I sure hope My Grandson
and his wife can make it in the farming game and that isn't easy these days.

That is a great grandson you've got... and a great story. JD running gears don't usually sell cheap, either.

Nice pic of your wagon below. Would have been nice to have one like that when we were young, to dump rocks off of. Lordy, for the rocks we picked on this farm in the early years... LOTS of 'em!!
 
The hoist is a Midwest WH 5 rated as a 5 ton capacity.
I would call that max and on level ground with a load that
would come off even so it doesn't twist the hoist frame.
The 1065A running gear is some where around a 6/7 ton gear
but of course some have been badly abused. I felt so bad
for a neighbor not far away that I built one for and they had it stolen,
still haven't recovered it and most probably never will.

Sounds like a pretty good grandpa has a pretty good grandson . Always good to hear things like this.
