Need info on a Hydraulic Cylinder

I bought a Ford (supposed to be a ford) cylinder from a guy up the road this evening and noticed it had a standard operation and a load monitor operation by moving the clevis 180 degrees. What does this do? I've never seen a cylinder like this and had no idea what the difference was in standard and load monitor. I've posted pictures below. Thanks!!!

Works with for example my 7700 and other similar era Ford tractors. Don?t line up the arrows and it?s just a cylinder.

If you line up the arrows and set some settings on the tractor, you can plow with a semi mount plow and using the threepoint lever and it controls the back end of the plow as well.

The "Load monitor" system is an addition to the normal draft control on the three point arms. When plowing with a semi mounted plow, the cylinder will lift the rear of the plow as the draft control lifts the front of the plow.

What turning the yoke of the cylinder is doing is turn it from a normal double acting cylinder to a single acting cylinder the rephrases when lifted all of the way. Meaning when the cylinder piston is completely extended it allows oil to pass through the cylinder. This removes any air in that circuit. If you set it to load monitor the cylinder will settle just a little after you extend it with a load on it. Also it will not retract hydraulically but will just allow oil to free flow back through the cylinder.

The load monitor system works pretty well when everything is functioning correctly. I can not tell you how many models of Ford tractors have it. I do know that the Ford 9600 and 9700 as a neighbor had both those models. He used it regularly when plowing was more common.

I would be using it with a 8260 NH tractor, not sure if mine has it but if it doesn't have the load monitor i'll just use it like a normal cylinder
