I have been watching the progress.

It looks to me like the Bahama's got nailed, but it might miss the US completely.

How are things looking down there for you folks?
 

My generator I converted to NG its working great... I brought some gas for the gas gen have food and water... The show stops around here when a hurricane is predicted maybe I can get caught up on my list of things to do...

The folks I care the most about have provisions for gen power so we can survive even If I have to put them up for a few weeks...

The bad does come out in some places its there choice just don't bring it here if you like living..
 
If current forecast holds true we will have a breezy time Wednesday evening and most of Thursday. Only .25 inch of rain is predicted for us. We are about 200 miles northwest of Wilmington. Really feel lucky and very sorry for those in the Bahamas.
 

Central NC 125 miles from the ocean most all of'em effect us in some fashion... Even if it hits the gulf cost the reminiscence of them often track our way with flood water...

If they come inland from Charleston SC to Wilmington its gonna be a tuff ride...

The good its not been a wet season hardwood trees should stand up to it but then pines normally don't fall they snap off... We are blessed with both...
 
We're at 2100 ft elevation in Henderson County. STill get tropical storms that tear up trees, dump rain and put us out of power about every three to five years.
 
we are in Newport, NC on the hiway 24 side. There is a "creek" behind the houses on the other side or the street we live on and the home owners can take there boats out to Bogue Sound. From there they can go either to Bouge Inlet or up toward Atlantic Beach side and then out to the ocean. As the crow flies it is about 4 or 5 miles from our house to the ocean. As it is predicted it looks like we will get hurricane force winds when this goes by. It may not make land fall but we will have major winds and rain here unless the track changes.
