Dearborn (Ford) plows and there value?

A question on here several days ago asked about the value of a 2 bottom plow. I talked to a friend of mine last night and said he had been to a sale yesterday and bought one. A friend of his was there and they both wanted it to fix there Ford plows so they agreed only one should bid and if he got it they would each take the parts they wanted for a plow day they both wanted to go to. My friend wanted the points and moleboards. The plow sold for $35.oo. He said a late model 2 bottom mounted John Deere sold for over $200.00. There is a sale in a couple of weeks near here with 61 plows on the sale bill! He said, 'maybe I will go".
 
Buying a plow for parts is sometimes the cheapest way to fix old Ford plows.
Moldboards and points for certain models are big $$$$$$. If you don't care about
"original" and just want a working plow, other brand frogs bolt up to Ford frame.
Fixed more than a few with IH and Oliver bottoms. Makes them cheaper to maintain as well.
 
I believe the Dearborn economy plow was factory equiped with Oliver bottoms.. At least some Dearborn I have seen had the same bottoms as my Oliver clutch lift plow did. That has been years ago when it would not have been econalmy feasable to buy the new parts to change them over. Wanted them for my NAA or TO-30 but could not afford them then.
 
We both mentioned some time you see Ford plows on Craig's list for 2-300 dollars. and we both wondered why. I think my one cousin plows a little yet and I think one other person may yet. Those are the only 2 in the township and Ford was never a player around here.
 
They probably bought them at an auction and are trying to flip them to make money. I see a lot of stuff on Craigslist I saw sell at auctions.
 

Around here decent ones sell for $300-$400. Everybody wants them for food plots and plow days.
