Motor machine shop advice- Lubbock to Springfield

Fellow tractor folks,
I drive regularly between West Texas and Southwest Missouri, and need to locate a motor machine shop somewhere along my path that will take on a project. I have a c-169 IH block, counterbored for dry type liners and I will need the following;
* Bore, then install repair sleeve in one hole to fix a cracked bore.
*Cut all counterbores to the same depth
*Surface the block so that the deepened counterbores are the correct depth for my dry liners

Sadly, the shop I have used out here in Lubbock for 30 years has let me down, and they don't want to mess with this block any more. I know that this repair will not be economical, but this is the original block on an otherwise very nice tractor, and I just can't stomach scrapping the original block if it can be saved. My normal machine shop in Lubbock just keeps telling me to scrap the block, and find a wrecking yard replacement. I also tried two alternates out here, but they just sat on the block for months without doing the work.

Can anyone recommend a shop along this route?
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I've had good luck with the O'Reilly's machine shop in Springfield MO. The O'Reilly's her at Camdenton MO. sends thing form here down there all the time and I have had heads and blocks and cranks done by them

Old, Understood. I drive by the Oreilly shop all the time when I am in Springfield, so they may get the work. In days past I used Monarch in Springfield, downtown just behind Caspers chili parlor. They were a great old line shop, doing lots of tractor and industrial engine machine work, but sadly they are gone. Thanks for the lead.

One nice thing about O'Reilly's is they are now pretty much nation wide and many times if I order a part at say 9AM it will be here by noon or 4PM

Yarbrough Industries in Springfield Missouri. Won?t be cheap, but you already know that. They advertise, ?if they can?t fix it pitch it?. I don?t know why they couldn?t do what you want. Another one is A-1 Automotive in Springfield. I don?t know if they would or not, but it?s worth asking. Google machine shops in Springfield Missouri and they both will come up.

Interesting, I hadn't considered Yarbrough, but they have done some very challenging work for me in the past, and always did a great job. Thanks for the lead!

CASPER'S!!!!! Nothing like Casper's on a cold wintry sleet afternoon, chili and a cheeseburger.

The O'Reilly's up your way must be under a different management/mission statement.

The ones around here, few even turn rotors anymore, none that I know of do any kind of machine or engine work, and never did.

Seems the goal is to hire the best they can find at minimum wage and do the least they have to to keep the doors open.

Springfield is about 75 miles south west of me. I44 to Lebanon then 20-25 miles up Hwy5 to being within 3-5 miles of me. I am 7 miles south of Camdenton MO

The O'Reilly's in my town is a HUB store so they train people for other stores. This O'Reilly's does well over 3 million dollars a year for sales. They still turn rotors and flywheels and brake drums here but yes fewer stores do because of cost and and training. Back when I moved here there was 3 or 4 machine shop in town and now there is none due to EPA regulations etc. We once had both a NAPA with a machine shop and O'Reilly's with a machine shop but not now. NAPA closed down back in the late 80s so up till a few years ago O'Reilly's was the only parts place in town. We now have an auto zone but it is so much or a joke O'Reilly's beats them hand down

I second yarborough, they did some stuff for me.
And yes monarch was the best of all machine shops.i miss them.
4 bd buda block had problems,1 day later i got it back all new bushings cam etc,and bearings crank was turned block line bored crank was installed torqued down, had a 3 or 4 pound drag to turn and very smooth too..
But if i was you id go to yarboroughs.
You drive about 20 miles from my house when on I 44, 37 north
