OT Oxygen Sensor

Is it imperavite that I disconnect the battery on a 2008 Nissan Rogue before changing out an 02 sensor? System check/code followed by a Reject inspection sticker is the reason for.

I cannot think of any reason why you need to unhook the battery. No power to the sensor when the key is "off."

No need to unhook the battery, but you will have to drive the car a week or two and numerous start cycles to put some driving history on the cars memory. Otherwise the emmision station will think you cleared the code on the way in and brought it in for a retest with no driving history

No need to disconnect the battery.

But once the problem is corrected, you will need to clear the code, then drive it far enough to establish a running history with no codes in order to pass inspection. Thinking somewhere around 50 miles.

Like others I don't see the battery having to be disconnected. A while back I had to disconnect the battery in my wifes Honda CRV and lo n behold when she tried the radio it didn't work said enter security code grrrrrrrrrr which I had to do before it worked...??

For no other reason, disconnecting the battery will clear the codes.
