First try rake

Got the belt put on the New Idea 402 side rake. Getting it that last way through the reel hub on the left side was tricky. Worst part was that all of the bolts were rusted together and spent a lot of time struggling to get things apart. A couple bolts were so bad, they just broke in half while trying to loosen them. Rake is waiting to get it new teeth, but otherwise is ready to use. Another exciting day. I've never made hay, so all of these implements are a first for me. This poor rake is old and all bent out of shape but it seems like it will do the job.

I think she needs a bigger tractor to pull that rake. We had a rake just like that one. It was permanently attached to the 8N all summer.

Nice job on the rake, sounds like it was tough. I kinda like breaking bolts, gives me excuse put new hardware in. For next video hold phone sideways, better image.

LOL I remember raking hay with a 2n ford for German farmer. Rough field in shape of a bowl, Hit a bad hole and swallowed my redman chew. Wasn't worth a plug nickle the rest of the day. LOL
