Heavy hay! Follow up

I rolled the field today that I posted about three days ago. 32 bales from 4 acres. These are 5?4 from a NH 845. Maybe 800 lbs each? That's 3.2 tons per acre. That's pretty dang good for me. I usually just bale unfertilized prairie hay at less than 1 ton per acre. The remnants of hurricane Barry are heading here. It acted stormy all day, threatened a rain storm several times. Glad it's rolled.

3.5 ton is good in my book . I?m sure someone else has gotten 4.5 ton but that?s the way it goes I guess . I do good to get 1 ton to the acre sometimes a lot less

I did 15 bales yesterday out of an area about 3.5 acres and my bales are in the 1200lbs range if not heavier. I use a NH850 chain baler and make a 5.5X6 bale so I figure around 18,000lbs best I have ever seen on my place

We just baled 10 acres of first cutting alfalfa, grass had about took it. But made 600 plus small 50 lb baled. Or ton and a half a acre. Sold all but 265 out of the field. So was a good day. Son and 2 grandsons got last of it in shed and all equipment moved home. 9:00 pm. Started raking after Sunday school. 80% chance of rain next 2 days. South East Illinois.
