Did a little unfarmerizing

Had to un modify my new Holland 56 rake I got it from the neighbor and they had welded a hitch extension on it so after welding and gobing extra gussets to try and get it through one more field I finally cut the whole mess off and started over

Find a crazy wheel off a lift assist and make it into a dolly wheel rake. I like them better that way. Easier to hook/move by yourself. I think it is easier to turn tighter with the dolly wheel.

Try the stupid pics again

I think we've all had that experience before, regardless of the apparatus the jack was attached to. To explain what happens when you find yourself with that predicament, would most likely get the individual banned from this site...

Then again, you might get away with it as long as you only described the actions, and not the words that preceded them....LOL....

Nothing like trying to get the handy man jack under the tongue of something while trying to raise it just that two inches and keep from getting your block knocked off hold the jack while trying to get the thing hooked up

Lift the rake with one hand and drop the jack down with the other one(LOL) I got tired of having to lift the the front of the rake up with the loader to hook up so I replaced
it with a jack off a 256.

I put the front wheels and spindle post off a John Deere B under a rake back in the 80's,,that was when we were trying to make a living growing $1.50 corn,,and it wasn't working out well...

Get a cement block and a board about 6 feet long. Set the cement block about a foot away from the side of the rake hitch. Lay the board on the cement block and under the rake. You now have lever to raise the rake up with. With practice you can maneuver the rake forwards and backwards or sideways to be able to hook up even though you didn't back the tractor up at exactly the right place.

Nice work SV. Sometimes it is best to just start over! Others have commented about the jack. I just use one of my tractors that has three point hitch. I have a small frame built for Cat one with a receiver hitch welded to it. So I can raise and lower it as I go. Works good on my rakes.

I really thought hard about doing that but I didn?t have just what I needed and didn?t want to buy much if you?ll notice this is the same piece of metal we were using for a welding coupon last week

Yes and bomgarrs has implement hacks on sale for 25$ to 30$ all the time . I think I?ll go look em today my factory jack I cut off is in pretty bad shape

I have an 894 JD that I pull on 3pt all the time works great for raising and lowering and hooking it up without a jack.

"Yes but when you come to hook up again and the jack has settled in the dirt an inch, what do you do?"

Lower the front end loader, raise the front of the tractor until the drawbar is the right height and back up! LOL
