Roof material for an odd shaped roof

I have an 8 sided wood shed, old grain bin, that I store parts in. The wood roof is getting bad and has had what I call rolled roofing, asphalt with gravel in a roll, on it. With 8 sides the roof has 8 triangle sections to make the roof. I am looking for suggestions for a different more durable roof material that would work on the triangle shaped sections without tons of waste. thank-you much

what is the pitch of the roof 4 / 12 , 6 / 12, 3 / 12? The lower the pitch closer to 1 /12 you could use EPDM Rubber roofing for ""flat roof"". From the companies that install flat roof coverings one can possibly purchase an amount necessary in 15 foot wide by what ever length, and the glue to install and seal joints.

I had rubber installed on a roof with a 1-12 pitch. They had to screw down a fiber board to glue the rubber too.

Can't see how there won't be a ton of scrap.

Take a measurement of each triangle of roof. Lay that out as a flat surface on paper using 1/4inch as a foot. Layout 8 of the triangles on abutcher paper to see how to fit them onto a strip of EPDM of standard width, with minimum waste. Strip the roof, and glue down the 60 mill EPDM then glue ridge caps down each hip ridge. Jim

Probably the most durable roof you could use would be a crimped metal roof. It would still have to have a wood deck to put it on but any bad wood could be replaced with pressure treated plywood.

If you use metal, all sheets would be cut at an angle but the unused section would fit the opposing side perfectly. You should be able to do it with very little waste if you use a combination of varying length sheets.
