Fling Belgian you mentioned having a Cat. Is this one of the newer rubber track machines? And if so have you had a problem with it wanting to just go in a circle if it is wet and stuck?
We had a local guy tell about them doing that when in wet ground and stuck or at least making tracks. Not just sure what he was talking about. Our old steel tracked Cat's if one track was on better going than the other would spin the track so it would go off true. We just either pulled the opposite steering lever or lightened the load till we got through the wet spot.

My neighbor had a 75 challenger and he ran into a ditch because of mud packed into the tracks. He called me to bring the 8430 to pull him out but my dad showed up with the 4840 and drug him out sideways. He was little embarrassed that a little 2wd tractor drug him out.

The ones with the big drive wheel like the 55 up just drive the track on friction and if you get mud or water on the track then it won?t drive . I don?t know if the older 85 series flat tracks have drive lugs in the wheels or not

Yes, mine is a rubber track machine. Model 35 with big drive wheel. I have not experienced anything you are talking about. Now, that being said I am very cautious about not getting in mud as I have nothing big enough to pull it out if stuck. I am much more brave with the smaller tractors knowing I can always pull them out with the Cat.

I have a 55 and good ole 65. If you?re in places where mud is up over tracks I?m thinking you should leave it in the barn. Just kidding, this year has been tough. Both mine have powered through some very tough situations in the past. I bought a big VT tool and ran it on the 65 this spring, it has a transmission and hitch perfect for that heavy thing. And it went through some terrible wet spots that would have buried my Case. Biggest thing is to just let go of the wheel when a track slips on the mud and you get nervous. That lets both tracks pull.
