What Can I Broadcast Without Disking In?

So I leased another property to farm, that I?m planning to grow winter wheat or rye on, to cut and bale first thing next year.

In the mean time, I?d like to throw some seed out there for this summer. The only problem is that it?s low lying ground and always wet, and with our usual heavy Texas rains, there is no feasible way for me to do any tillage there this spring.

What could I throw out there that has the best chance of taking off without being rolled into the soil? Thanks in advance

I've never had much luck broadcasting any kind of seed without preparing the seedbed and covering the seed.

I suppose you could try Johnson grass. I expect it would grow.
