My Uncle told me my Grandfather said we were to far North to raise beef cattle, after 40 years when my uncle retired, he believes he may have been right!
I?ve been farming now for 15 years, I wish he would have told me this before today.....

45 inches of snow and more on the way...

I think we?ve gotten about the same amount of snow in Atlantic Canada. You have a beautiful place!

When I was a kid, we kept the hay in the upstairs of the barn, and the cattle downstairs, and only snow we had to worry about was from the stable door to the manure pile. Nowadays the cattle run outside all year round, the hay is left out to rot and get buried in snow, and everyone complains about no money in farming.

Now I get it !
