Why not make something like this?

I guess the ramps look ok for a light vehicle like that, but those stands? NO angle braces to keep the
the thing from folding right over. Hit the brakes a little too hard when you reach the top and squish.

I think the guy that wanted to use barrels has a hillside on his property and wanted to build something for almost nothing to work under his truck. That's what I did 48 years ago and it worked well for me.

About 50 years ago a friend gave me a pair of ramps that he had built in ag shop in high school. I took one look at them, thanked him kindly and put them in a corner of the shed. After a respectable period
of time, they went on a load of scrap, and neither of us ever mentioned them again.

...Just a sample photo folks. Wasn't thinking these particular ramps would be worthwhile.

He already has a wall he can drive off of, so he could simply build up sturdy bracing under his beams.

Not to worry about all the ramp design critiques KCM. That SUV is just a display model for the dealership.
It's made of plastic, styrofoam and balsa wood. All the dealerships use them.

I also think you never thought of driving your truck up on barrels either ? LOL.
I know I would not of even thought of it and sure would not try it.

Yeah, sure!

I have a hoist, and it is easier to work on a creeper than under a vehicle at that height. Your either on your knees
or stooped over so bad your back aches. My hoist cost $900 plus about $50 to install. In the 10 years I've had it,
It's paid for itself at least 20 times over.
