chewing tobacco brands

I still, after 6 years don't even want to smoke. But I've recently started chewing again. I've tried Stokeys red supreme, Beechnut wintergreen, Beechnut regular and Red Man and they all have those short pieces of sticks from the leaves in them (some are pretty large). Red Man seems to have the least. Just wondering what you guys chew. I know I shouldn't be chewing, but I do need at least 1 bad habit besides my tractors, so just wondering. Keith

If you need a bad habit have a few beers before going to bed that is at least sort of good for you as long as you do not drink to many that is plus it can help one sleep.

I gave up smoking 5 plus years ago and never looked back. NEVER have chewed so that is not and never has been a problem

I had an uncle that lost half his tongue to cancer, it was horrific.

Best tobacco is no tobacco.

I?m not your mother so I won?t lecture you. At our age we?re too slow to chase fast women, hangovers hurt the next morning, and you can?t cuss around grandkids. I chew Stoker?s Long Cut Straight.

I don't chew a lot, but sometimes I do to take the edge off. Being a northern boy, we don't have the selection up here like they do down south. I'm a big fan of looseleaf, like Red Man, Levi Garrett, etc. I always liked the Red Man Silver blend, but it hasn't been available around here for a long time. When I truck equipment down south for a buddy each fall, I stop and stay in Lexington Tn on my way to Alabama. There is a little tobacco store there in Lexington that has an entire wall it seems of every kind of looseleaf chew available to man. Brands I've never seen or heard of. I hit it pretty hard last fall, but I wanted to buy plug and rope tobacco so I could try that out. I bought about 10 or so bricks of every different brand plug that I could find, and one small pouch of rope or twist tobacco. Not only does no one in MI carry plug that I know of, everything is so much cheaper down south. I love the plug, haven't got to the twist yet, but next year I'm gonna hit the looseleaf selection down there.

We know a lady, only 53, who lost half her face to oral cancer. Nasty stuff. Chewing is not only nasty, it can also be deadly. I know, I'm not your mother.........

my son who is 35 chewed since he was 18 just had to have oral gum surgery does not chew anymore , would not listen to me what are you going to do

I sold an old man a plug of chewing tobacco one morning and he immediately unwrapped it and proceeded to bite a corner off. It wouldn't come loose, and upon closer inspection, he found a bird's wing encased in the plug. He was unfazed - I swapped the bird plug for another one.

I used to love to chew beech nut, but just give it up maybe 12 years ago. My father chewed red man. Both my grand fathers chewed twist tobacco. One had to have Warren county and the other wanted mammoth cave. I don't know if they still make those or not. Nathan

I was a beech nut fanatic but gave it up. Chew has gone out around me, not many stores sell it and the price is out there. There were many brands in its hay day you don't see now.

went from levi to redman to stokers them tried dip... Longhorn winter green long cut you know what drops on the floor and they can sell cheap...

DO You know how to tell if a redneck couple is married...

Pick up truck has Baccer spit on both doors...

Is Copenhagen dip considered "chew" ...... I guess it would be. Not sure if as many kids chew it as they used to but a few years ago, it was an epidemic. Hockey players (some of them) used it during games and practices and you could see the spit spots on the ice. The arena management guys were really pi$$ed off.
I'm gonna tell you what a little plastic tub of Copenhagen costs up here so sit down and I'll tell you.

Sitting down ..... how does $32 CDN sound ..... so that would be about $24 USD I think. Now that is PRICEY stuff .....

I like Red Man Golden Blend but it is too expensive. 112.00dolars a carton. I chew Chattanooga Chew now. Not much cheaper but not a bad chew.

Quit chewing around 1980,(Copenhagen). Quit smoking Feb 1992, Probably the only reason I'm still here.

When I was chewing, helping me to quit smoking in '88 Levi Garrett was my love. Goooooooood stuff and not to stout. That lasted a couple or so years and I got rid of the whole nicotine mess.

Got sick off the d&^ stuff when I was 14 I felt like I died a dozen times a friend offered me a hundred dollars one time to tale a chew while fishing at the coast I told him I came to fish not puke.

Days O Work plug was one of the brands of plug I bought down south. Right now I'm working on a brick of Cannonball plug. Love the old timey looking wrappers.

Chewed Redman for some 20 years, took nearly five years to get off of the darn stuff. My mouth is watering just reading this thread. Never liked Lancaster, could chew Levi Garret, and liked Beach Nut, but Redman was always my first pick

I think libtards should hurry and make a law against all tobacco food and water and cars and trucks becuse they will all kill you also cell phones and computers because of the gold they contain

I went to my old neighbor's auction when he retired. His son's fianc? was there, and I thought there was not a prettier gal on this earth. Beautiful long black hair, a low-cut T-shirt and skin-tight jeans. She had a round object in her back pocket, and every guy there couldn't help but notice. I figured she was carrying her feller's Skoal for him, but no - she pulled a can of Copenhagen out of her jeans, used the lid for a shovel, pulled her lip open with an index finger and shoveled a lidful right on in. It was a shock.

I dip stokers. I prefer Copenhagen but I'm cheap. I have a intense desire to quit, so I wont be chewing for much longer. Started when I was 13 and am 41 now. I watched everyone in my family aside from 2 die of cancer, 1 beat it 10 years ago. I think it's safe to say cancer runs in my family, I owe it to my wife and kids to live.

I wish there were a EZ way out I have tried its tuff tuffer than smokes... When my kids came along I put the smokes down for them that was 1985 I started chew'N around 2000 the bad I like it.
I went to the NC farm show for right many years got chew and dip I gave the dip away. Around 2008 at the farm show some company had a set up like a bar nice look'N girls would serve ya dip I tried it and was hooked on dip. I never thought I would dip my take its additive as ell and yes its got me hooked...

I'll bet if you had been around when my great uncle died of lung cancer you'd think different about tobacco,he died a terrible, awful suffering death and his family suffered a long with
him.Cancer doesn't care what your politics are.

When I was active Army, we were getting ready for night shift. After guard mount, one of the senior NCOs pulled a can out of his pocket and took a dip. Right away one of the corporals asked if he could get a pinch. Sarge handed over the can. Corporal took a pinch, packed it in his gum, and got a look of horror like he'd seen the devil, then began clawing at his lip gasping.
Sarge had a Copenhagen can full of coffee grounds. Needed the caffeine to keep awake.
Igrew up with a mother that smoked. I've had a persistent cough since junior high. Diagnosed with COPD 35 years ago. 25 is too young for emphysema.

Grandpa always chewed Mail Pouch tobacco. Wonder do they still make it? I know they quit painting the sides of barns altho many people painted the signs on their own barns.

I dipped grizzly for years but last can I bought was 4.00 I said no more. Switched to kayak 99 cents tasted like plastic can but got used to it. Like it now as good as any. May try to quit someday.

I know that is true, I used to chew Red Man. I was in the Air Force and stationed near limestone Maine. Red Man was not to be had anywhere! I mail ordered it from the factory for over three years.

Just gave up Skoal 10 weeks ago after 40 years to help the new hip heal and it was a horrible 2 weeks. (Apologies to the planet and all it's inhabitants)
