My wife Jenny and I took our oldest boy Francis to tour the Fox Valley Tech diesel school ( Appleton , WI ) We were impressed. Looks like Francis will be attending in the fall. He was exited to see it and can't wait to get started. I am proud of him. Bill

It's been almost 25 but I graduated from diesel tech school. I have had a great career since then.

When I taught Ag and later when I was vocational director, I took quite a few young people to visit diesel tech school. Several went and all but one finished. They all make a pretty good living and some are making big time money. The main thing is to enjoy your work. Your son will be able to get a decent job almost anyplace he chooses to live. I am happy for him and you.

I helped to get my last school boy helper enrolled into the Caterpillar training program, he is doing great, 2 year program "Free",,he will be dedicated to work for Cat for 2 years at a starting wage of $24,,he has very good work habits and was one of the best helpers that I ever had ..He worked for me for 3 years.

I wish! The 8000 series just came out when I graduated. ( cant believe I ended up buying one) what year did your son graduate Deere tech school? I stayed at the dealer for about a year after I got out.( money talks!)

it is either 1 full year or a 2 year degree. He is just thinking the 1 year for now.

Anybody know what rose dale tech In Pittsburgh is like? Going to tour their campus on Tuesday and learn about their diesel program. Trying to figure out what I’m gonna do after high school (besides restore tractors in my free time lol)

Good deal. I OFTEN regret not taking the diesel tech program that my county offered in High School. Hindsight is 20/20.

I know 2 men who attended a diesel tech school. They were disappointed because the instructors taught to kids who never turned wrenches, had no clue about engines. Had no experience working on anything. These kids grew up around parents who where shade tree mechanics.
