Combining corn

Finally got started combineing today. Moisture is to 15.6%. Yield is down.Quite a bit actually. But the 'old' 95 is performing perfectly. The buyer is even hauling it. Life is good.

My 95 did great this fall in both corn and soybeans. I have an oil leak on the back side of the engine so I guess I will need to pull the engine before next fall to address the problem. I have a late 444 corn head with factory poly snoots and was glad for it with the amount of down corn we had this year. Many farmers in my area were running down corn reels. It is nice to know a few other people are still running the old 5 series combines. We have a 105 as well that we cut our small grain with. Tom

My 95 has a 443 cornhead. There are getting to be some thin spots in the tin.The 217 engine doesn't use a bit of oil.But it's the best combine I've ever owned. I also have a (1958)55 round back that I'm fixing up for small grains and soybeans.,and a 1946/7 55 that I saved from the scrapper. Barn find from Carbondale(Aspen) Colorado.
