Some recent video I put together while working on some repairs on the bale wagon that used to be a Ford truck. Plus a little history on how it got to this point.

A neat story. Thanks. My Dad had a 1929 International truck which he converted to a 4 wheel trailer (with flat bed similar to yours) after the truck engine wore out. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of the truck before or after the conversion. It was known as the 6 Speed Special which I think was the way International advertised them. It was a ton and a half capacity. I was driving it when I was 11 years old hauling grain 3 miles from farm to local elevator on a township gravel road.

Great story! I have a truck type wagon too! I bought it at an auction,,a neighbors farm. His grandfather built it from a flatbed truck. Its the frame of a truck,,but the front axel is the wheels,,not the rear of the truck. I bought it for 35 dollars. The wheels hat were on it had flat tires. My brother gave me the wheels that are on it now,,the tires were good, already mounted. They do stick out of the side of the trailer a bit.I still have the original wheels that came with the trailer.

Great looking trailer there Larry. Especially painted in tractor matching colours. Mine I had originally painted the frame with Cockshutt yellow but went over it again with some no name type of construction yellow. The wood was painted red but it does not last long in outdoor storage. I salvaged those fir planks from an old barn back in 1984 and rebuilt the top. They are still ok but starting to show their age.

The truck in your video is definitely the same kind as we had. But ours had serious cab deterioration of the wood parts and the doors had been taken off - I don't remember why.

I do remember seeing one at a gathering of International tractors and trucks probably 20 years ago.

Picture from back about 1984 loading up the bale wagon with square straw bales. My dad could really handle bales with a pitch fork. We could get over 200 on a load.
