Massey Ferguson 165 - Multi Power Transmission Braking Issue

I have a 1967 MF 165 Diesel farm tractor with a three speed transmission with multi power. Is there any way to by-pass multi power so it will have engine braking in low multi power? Or to do away with multi power all together and have engine braking like a regular transmission??? Thanks for any suggestions or recommendations.

Your Massey has a 3 speed, a low range and high range....and the multipower giving you 12 forward and 4 reverse speeds. The
multipower has engine braking in high not in low. Low uses an over running clutch (Sprague) and is not deletable unless you
remove the multipower totally. I can't of a good reason to multipower delete.

You either love them or hate them.i have
learned to put up with sometimes you have
to drop to a lower gear on the shifter and
go to the high side of the multi power to
adjust your speed going downhill here is a
