Old Massey Harris commercial.

This would be a film that a dealer would play continuously on a Saturday, after advertising the open house on the radio and newspaper. The dealer would give the custmers coffee, cookies and perhaps some hot dogs. As a kid, I remember our local Oliver dealer putting on an event like this. Dad would talk to the salesmen, mom would gab with the other wives, and I would ride the Oliver 70 pedal tractor around the show room.

Was that truck they were chopping into a Dodge? Very neat video and I'm glad somebody saved it. Imagine what has been lost with dealers closing out and box lots getting tossed because nobody wanted them at the time.

It would have been filmed in around 1953 or 54 since the 44 Special is featured.
Also some of the film appears to be shot at the Massey Harris Farm located just
North of Toronto. That area is all houses now. I think the test track was harder on
the drivers than the tractor! It would be some sort of torture for man and machine
to endure that for even a few hours.
Neat film!
