years ago o plowed up about 6 acres of open ground. bought a 2 bottom case plow and never had used a plow so t the time it seemed like the thing to do at that time. over the years I didn't maintain it so it started growing up with those sprouts. started to clean it back up. basically will be used just to run the 4 wheeler on. I guess should I plow it again or just dick the heck out of it. how do you or what do you use to smooth it all out after I get it plowed and how deep would you plow it. its all just in grass.

Mow short, let the grass clippings rot a bit, then plow again. I let it sit for a couple weeks to let the roots die. Then disk smooth.
This is how I do it, I'm sure there are other ways.

leveling disk harrow. but until you either remove the grass/root clumps or keep disturbing until they decay & not re-grow, you will never get it smooth.

Rolling it after it is wet with rain, or after it dries enough after winter will smooth the lumps from plowing but not ruts or furrows. If those, disking is really the answer. If you want ATV trails, making those a priority would be good, while leaving the remainder to mellow. jim

So that six acres never had a disk pulled over it after you plowed? If it was never disked and harrowed, I believe you need to plow, let the air hit those roots for a few days, then disk as deep as the tractor will handle, then pull a spike tooth harrow over it. Get it all nice and smooth then seed down with your choice of grasses and harrow again. Stay off of it until grass is well established. You'll have a nice smooth place to tear up and rutt up make mud holes jumps and dipps. Or you could just leave it as it is and use it. lol gobble
