Never been around one, looks like something could go terribly wrong really fast! There would have to be some way to stop it other than brakes!

Are you stompin around in in the Live Free or Die State it's a little early for fall foliage they say about 30% in the north woods. The Fryeburg Fair starts monday Fryeburg Maine one of the better fairs in my Opinion.

Glad to see they are still running one steamer. Diesels just don't do it for me and if I hear some other twit telling us about coal smoke polution.

Jeffcat, My high school chemistry lab partner and friend Chuck Kennison runs the place. He designed their new diesel locomotives, and they were built there on site. He explained to me that the main reason for the switch to diesel was the unreliability of supply of coal. With so little being used anymore the supply chain has gotten weak and, during the summer when they use it, unreliable.

nice to see the old engines maintained, they look like one could almost fire them up and drive, ive watched that cog engine run, defiantly a different site, but once it hits the grade, the design makes perfect sence
