A friend has a mid sized Kubota 4 wheel drive that he uses extensively around the farm. He can't keep a seal in one side of the front end (this is the 3rd one). I suggested filling it with a good grade grease. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I have repaired 4/5 of those if you own one sooner are later you will put seals and bearings in them. Most all I have been into a bearing goes bad I take the complete knuckle apart and reseal the it all... All I can think of is it may have damaged the axle are its full if metal they can trap metal the only way to clean it out is to take the complete knuckle apart. Its a straight forward job I get my parts from Bota prices are inline with bearing houses...

I inform all the folks I know if you see it start to leak get it in the shop NOW before it chews up the bearings... NO I would not just fill it with heavy grease...
