Please help me identify this Ford 5000 ?

I bought a ford 5000 for 500$ recently.
It needs some tlc, and a new paint job, but everything works as it should, suprisingly.
However, i cannot fiigure out what year this tractir is and what it is referred to as.
My father in law has a 1971 ford 4000 with the bkue paint scheme.
This particular one i bought has a cream white and bkue paint scheme. It has markings all over it that the best i can tell are stamped EN FN.
I can try to attach a few pictures.
We are stumped as to what year and model this one is. In order to buy parts for it.

The last of the Fordson Majors were also called a 5000 and were all diesels. The color was same as the 4 cylinder 2000 and 4000 Fords. For that tractor go to the Fordson section of yesterdays tractors, the Ford section will not get you the ones that know those tractors. This tractor would be 7-10 years older than your 4000 and was first designed around 1950.

That is same as Fordson Power Major, if you look that the divider between motor and engine compartment on the engine side, there is a tag above the valve cover facing engine, should have the info you are looking for. It looks like it has been painted over, should have serial # on it.

I have a brand new fuel injector, still in the box and 2 new push rods. I kept these when I kept these when I sold my Power Major. I made the mistake of giving the individual my service manual, should have kept it also. Hind sight!!!

Since i am new to the supers, what kind of fluid do i put in the transmission and rear end.
I assume the resr end is the same as a ford 4000, as it holds the fluid for the hydraulics. I have been reading article after article on the fordson forums. It sems some people use hydraulic fluid to fill the rear end, and others use 15-40 engine oil. Same goes for the transmission. Several post say 90 weight oil and several say 15-40 engine oil.
I am trying not to screw up, right off the bat ... lol
What do yall suggest.
Also how would i tell the difference between a power major a1960-63 (50hp) and a new performance super major 1963-64 (55hp) ?
Is the ford 5000 decal really the only way to tell the difference ? Some articles i read said the ford 5000 decals wers only put on 1963-64.
I am a newbie, so please dont shoot ... lol
Thanks for all yalls information. I would be lost without these forums.

It seems like I down loaded a manual for the Power Major, and have it saved some where on my computer. I will see if I can find it, and will let ya know. I put 90 in rear end and hydraulic fluid in transmission, if I remember correctly that is what the Ford dealership advised.

Your tractor is a 1963 Fordson New Performance Super Major that was sold in the US as a
Ford 5000.

Oil in the rear axle and gearbox is 20/30W Multigrade or 20W or 30W. The oil was changed
from 90w in a Ford service letter in 1957. 90W gear oil will slow down the hydraulics as
it cannot pass through the small porting in the lift cylinder.

You have double acting draft control, works in tension as well as compression on the top
link, position control and disc brakes. The Power Major had none of these things.

You have a Minimec pump which needs engine oil in the governor housing to lubricate the
governor mechanism. This should be changed every time you change the engine oil. Do not
worry if you find it diluted with diesel, this is OK and is allowed to happen.

These were the last tractors in the Major line which stretched back to 1952. They were
built like a tank and many are still working over here in England on small farms.

Here is some more info on your ford 5000. I even posted the website where you can get more info..

The Ford 5000 Diesel was the British-built Fordson Super Major with a different paint scheme. The 5000 Diesel was imported into the United States to provide a large diesel tractor to Ford dealers. The tractor had no relation, other than name, to the later Ford 5000 that followed it. The 5000 Diesel featured a blue and cream paint scheme, and new decals, although it retained the Super Major hood badge.
