Montana Wheat harvest

I had no idea they had that kind of terrain in Montana. Guess I thought it was all flat except for the mountains.

Not sure why so many think we are "flat" out here lol, the ground in the vid is normal for my area and much of the places in MT I visit there is not much flat ground out here at all, I get these comments a lot from my pics also where I post 99% of the time these days, its called Big Sky country out here but not flat country LOL

My oldest son was out near Bozemen several years ago with Eyster Harvesting and we drove out to visit him. Very nice country for sure.

I don't know why it is always thought of as flat either. I cut out between Billings and Hardin a few years with a crew. On end of the head in the dirt, and the other almost over the wheat. The head was what kept it from rolling over I think sometimes. Good thing for 30 foot heads. The scenery is great though. If you really want to take your breath away drive down from Blegrade to West Yellowstone. If you want to take you life into your own hands unless they have redone the road, go from Billings to Roundup. Road not even wide enough for the white lines on the edges. Bull wagons would break your flags off when they passed you opposite direction. Another good drive is hwy 3 from Billings to Great Falls. The Judith Gap area.
I like the scenery along Us 30 from I-80 to Mc Cammon Id also.

Great video! Thanks for posting. Amazing how they can now use the whole length of the header to cut the wheat! Looks to me like those gullys could have been cut durring the great flood in Noah's time.
My brother did custom combining. I drove trucks for him in the field. Was too young to drive on the road.

I"ve opened up a lot of fields at night, but I think I"ll pass on that one! Beautiful shots though.
