fuel pump pressure

I want to replace the fuel pump on a 6cyl 265 ci Chrysler industrial flat head. Parts guy said that I need to know what the fuel pump pressure is cause he has two pumps and is not sure which is the correct one. Anyone know what the pressure is for this engine? Is it even an issue? Thanks for any info you guys have.

Most likely want the lowest pressure pump you can get - around 2 - 3 psi max.

All the pump must do is lift fuel and deliver it to the carburetor. Any pressure above 4 or so at the carb inlet is likely to overwhelm the float valve and cause the carburetor to flood.

FWIW we had the same Chrysler flathead in an irrigation pump. It had no fuel pump. Rather fuel flowed by gravity from a tank mounted only about 12" higher than the carb inlet.

3 is a good average number. Get a variable and set it to what works. 3 is mid range on them and I never had a problem with them....even used them on my outboard motor.
