S.V. m my sweeper is a 50in ohio steel I use it only for pine cones on my gravel driveway, works great found mine on C/L for 100.00 it takes a little to get it just the right level on your mower so that it picks up the cones and not the gravel also to get it level so the bag does not drag

I've been thinking of buying a 50 inch Ohio steel sweeper. Can't find anything on my craigslist worth buying.

Is yours like this one ? Really thinking of getting one

I had one like that it worked OK much better that a cheap vac system on a cheap mower... The only thing that goes bad is the plastic gears on one wheel I still have a wheel with good gears I took off at the trash dump riding in the bed of my pick up. I left the sweeper for the guy to use at a house I sold. I brought it up to him a few weeks ago he said come get it I could have it... Like anything you have to play with it to get it to work to your liking. I had it down pat to pick off if gravel and not pick up any if not much gravel...

I have a 42" Agri-fab. It has,I am guessing about a six bushel hopper on it. In 15 years I have never been able to get it adjusted so that it will collect more than maybe two bushels. The bouncing keeps moving the clippings forward in to the front blocking and new stuff from getting in. To get a decent load I have to stop and pack the clippings into the back, and this only works for damp clippings.
Over all it is much better than raking.

Geo, try looking for an older Case or Ingersoll. No longer in production, but parts are still available. And, they're one of the few brands worth fixing. Unique dual brush system, hopper in front of wheels, heavy duty. Were very expensive new and work excellent.
