Fairbanks-Morse Engine

I recently acquired a Fairbanks-Morse 1 1/2 hp stationary Model Z engine. It has a spark plug, not an ignitor. It is missing its' mag, and I do not know which mag is the proper one for it. Does anyone on
list know which mag goes with this engine?

My guess would be a Wico EK.

What does it look like? One flywheel or two spoked wheels? Do you know what year? I think a lot came with American Bosch magnetos. According to CH Wendell?s gas engine book there could be several different magnetos used on these engines. Post a picture if you can. I?ll get a picture of my 3 horse and my 1 1/2 horse Z style D engines and post back later.

Ok here?s my engines. Funny thing about them is they both have base mount Fairbanks-Morse magnetos on them. Wendell?s book don?t specifically say Fairbanks morris magnetos but did say others were used. Hope this helps.

Ok I believe that one will take the rotary American Bosch magneto but I don?t know the number. Google hit miss enterprise, they will know what you need and might have one. Good luck!
