Clouds And Autumn

Still plagued by cloudy and damp weather. Gets almost dry and then a spit of rain. Not enough to measure but keeps the crop tough or damp. Its still a bit early to combine much tough grain so I'm at a standstill and getting impatient. Took a leaf tour in the Merc a couple of days ago. At least the scenery is nice.

That?s a nice picture. Wish we could get a little
moisture here although I know it?s tough to have
crop ready to harvest and can?t becuse of weather

Actually I wouldn't mind some serious moisture here as well since we have had way below normal rainfall. Pastures and hay are very poor. All we get is the threat of rain and enough damp conditions to hold up combining. Not enough to do any good. As usual its feast or famine in this country.
Oh well, I took a drive in the Merc to check on the bins on Grandpa's farm.

That?s how it is here to we had an inch of rain about two weeks ago but you can find very little trace of it I was plowing the other day and did find a little moisture in a couple spots but the rest was so dry you about couldn?t drive a nail in the ground . Thanks for posting the videos I really enjoy them

Beautiful fall pictures. It is amazing how different the weather is 350 miles to the
northwest of you. Not a ounce of grain cut or combined for it has been wet all
august and September. And now this white stuff. Maybe we will get some
"summer" in October. All the best with your harvest.

Rusty, what part of SK do you live in? We drove through SK this summer, Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Biggar to visit cousins in
Unity then south again through Rosetown to look at the farm near Elrose where my Grandfather homesteaded in the early 1900s before
returning to eastern ON to marry my Grandmother, then to Swift Current and on to Medicine Hat AB. The crops were extremely good in
the Unity area as they had been receiving plenty of rain. Other areas appeared to vary depending how rainfall they received.

If you went through Regina you were about an hour and a half SW of me. That is not a real scenic part of the country. Too flat and open for my liking. I like my parklands with the poplar bushes although most of the efficient farmers are clearing all that bush and fence lines out.

Rusty, we took the Trans Canada from Brandon to Regina then to Moose Jaw to see the Capone tunnels, then north to Saskatoon.
The previous time when we drove to Calgary, we took the Yellow Head Hwy and it was much more scenic.

How you receive some good harvest weather and all goes well.
