I just got a Ford 4000 and when I look up the serial # I can find no info. The # is B846822 , thanks for any help

Near where you found that number there will be the "unit" number in the format number-letter-number-letter (7B14B) that is the date of final assembly. The "B" at the beginning of the number you supplied indicates it was built at the Basildon UK plant, the serials on this site start with "C" which is the plant code for US built units.

8A23 is January 23rd, 1968 for a 4000. There should be a letter after the 23 to designate which shift, but it may not be there if the worker was more interested in getting to his pint at the
pub.

OR, the 3 could be a "B" in which case January 2nd 1968 you'd have to look up what day of the week they are and see if either one is not a weekday.
