Are you posting from a phone? If so it is difficult if not impossible to have a picture post in the proper orientation if the phone was not held in the proper position when the picture was taken.

I read someone's post on here about holding the phone sideways when taking a picture it was trial and error but I think I got it

On my Samsung and also the I phones at work. For a normal photo or video you firstly hold the phone sideways ..duh.. But what you really need to do is the start up button needs to be on the right side. This gives the camera function a reference point. If you take a vertical photo the button needs to be on the bottom. Now when you post photos there are easy ways to do it it your laptop for correct orientation. Not so easy with a smart phone. I run any vertical shots through a photo program that I downloaded from an on line APP. With a little practice you get pretty good. There is a good place to practice right on this site. Download anything into the TEST area. Then work from there.

Also, anytime you make a post, whether it has a picture or no picture, There is a "PREVIEW" button just to the left of the submit button. Preview lets you see what you have done BEFORE you submit. If you don't like it, don't submit it.

That's why the test section is down near the bottom of the titles. Easy to test stuff out.
