Hello I bought a 1150 with a perkins 503.8 liquid cooled V-8 510 16 valve 8.3 L diesel from a buddy of mine he said he rebuilt the lift pump with
all new gears separated the tranny and put a new collet sleeve in . Before he did this the tractor was running fine but now the engine is locked
doesn?t crank the starter clicks batteries good he said he thinks it?s a connecting rod how is that possible if the motor was shut down how do
you blow a connecting rod ? is it possible that the lift pump reassembled the wrong way could be locking up the motor the front hydrolic pump is
spinning freely so that?s not it . any ideas I?d really appreciate the help thank you Lars

I'd pull the starter and try and turn it with a bar to confirm its locked first. If he split the tractor and then forced it back together in a bind with the bell housing bolts that might have locked it up.....or maybe he isn't telling you everything.

It has been a long time since I was into a 1100 series MF,but I am thinking there is a bell housing bolt that is too long and it is hitting the flywheel. Just a thought.

Thank you my friends I will check the bolts to see if they backed out and I?ll pull the starter and try turning it with a bar . Actually it would be better then a busted connecting rod or a damaged liner much appreciated!

98 times out of a hundred a clicking solenoid on tractor is a bad cable connection. 30 times out of a hundred when a cable connection is bad it can't possibly be something so easy.

Thank you I?ll be pulling the starter today and will
wire brush all connections. Also going to try turning
the motor over manually I will update my progress.
Thank you much appreciate Lars.

Thank you I?ll be looking at that today much appreciated I?ll will update my progress as soon as completed Lars

Thank you the rain finally let up I will be performing these repair options today and will update as soon as I?m finished greatly appreciate all advice keep em comming Lars.
