Picking bales

I baled a small field this afternoon. Only 50 bales. Really didn't feel like picking by hand. All the other 'haying tractors' were busy. So I put the 1032 stackwagon on my superM.No LPTO,the controls pokeing me in the back.Had to put in neutral every time,no simply stepping on the clutch.Got them picked pretty easy. Made me appreaciate the newer tractors with power steering,LPTO,And not being poked by the controls!LOL Acctually,it was kind of fun being on the 'old Super'.

I?d like to find a stack wagon but I was taking to my friend over at fix it again tony and he says 3000.00$ for one in any kind of operating condition . Makes me wish I hadn?t sold my old 2 wide I had for 300$

I just picked up a little 1010 stack wagon, but there hasn't been enough hay to use it. One field was 8 bales an acre.

got to ask why do you drop them on the ground ? all the hay we made we never drop on the ground hand loaded or had a kicker

Out here we All drop them on the ground,, never seen a bale thrower or a wagon used with some one loading them here way too many acres to do and a short time to do it, we also are a dryer climate you can leave them here with little to no damage to them in the fields,, when I put up small squares before going to round bales I would bale 120,000-150,000 a year easy,, I did have a bale wagon then but still it took 2 weeks to a month to finish stacking after baling, our hay is also stacked outside these days I only bale 200-600 small squares and just use my DC and Duncan to sweep them up and load on a trailer,, I do it all alone and can load a trailer in about a 1/2 hr with 250 bales or so, I was loading straw here I sell to the local COOP

I bought 1012 wagon last year..Used it full force this year... last year was the learning year.. I LOVE IT...I put up hay in a field 30 minutes away.. Pickup up with 1012 and offload to trailer.. Super nice.. after picking up couple hundred im not all wore out..

That's what I always like to refer to as fooling around for two hours trying to get out of ten minutes work. LOL

I have a 1032 and love it, usually pull with my 560 Farmall so have live PTO. I had a 1030 but like the auto tie on the 1032. They are so nice when adjusted and working right and if you have good tight bales.

Same with me. Why do twice the work. As all the hay has to be under cover before dark. Or before the rain. A wagon you can just put in shed oe even a tarp over to protech against the weather. On the ground you cannot cover each bale out in the field and even if you could the rain would get under the cover and soak the bottom of the bale. Kicker makes a one man operation but hand loading makes it a 2 man operation. Dropping on ground makes it a 2 or more man operation to get all undercover before night or the rain what ever comes first. And we cannot bale before noon because of the dew. usually.

I understand you guys in Wet country have to do it that way,, here I bale a lot of times starting 1-3 am so I Have dew lol you guys get more rain in a month a lot of the time than we do in a year

I stack 54 bales on my pickup in about 17 minutes. If they are second cutting spread farther apart in the field and I have to climb in and out of the truck more, add a few minutes. But I'm only 75.

Definitely the hard part. Elevating them up in the mows of the three barns is tough work. The two sheds not much easier.
