Kansas St. Fair-4H, FFA tractor restoration

My wife, daughter & I took our annual pilgrimage to the Kansas State Fair last weekend. After eating some of the unhealthiest food on planet earth, I must say it's nice to eat a regular meal again, LOL.
There were three tractors entered in the 4H and FFA antique tractor restoration. I can remember just a few years ago when there were well over a dozen, but times have changed and antique tractor restoration is not taught by instructors that have recently graduated college and it takes a special shop instructor just to attempt such a project. I can remember just about four years ago my son taking shop ag in high school and the instructor couldn't weld, knew absolutely nothing about mechanics and just about every question put to her by the students was answered by: "I don't know, but maybe we can look up the answer to that", so the students who worked on these tractors can be grateful that they have the instructors that they do.
In the past, I haven't always agreed with the placement or the judging, but remember that the judges also do an oral visit or test to the students, so that may be why a tractor placed higher or lower than it did. First place: AC. Second place: IH H. Third place: John Deere G.

I had to show a shop teacher how to light an acetylene torch. I used to deliver 4 to 5 bottles of gas every other week to that school. It has been two years since I have been there.

3 beautiful tractors! It'd be hard to choose between them which was best! Thanks for posting the pics.
