I bought a self propelled 8200 hesston sickle last week. I finally run it today. After running 9ft pull types my whole life I have to say WHAT A BEAST!

Jumped from a Heston 420 self propelled with a 12? cut to a Heston 8400 self propelled with a 18? cut this year. Because g difference. Sorry I have never understood why anyone would want a pull type. You need to try a one of the new self propelled disk machines. The local church farm has one with about a 15? cut and the cut at around 16 mph. Thanks ken

My brother runs an 18ft sp hesston disc bone at a neighboring farm. His response was where have you been all my life. I'm not ready to give up on my 488nh or my 1091hesston yet but I've had to hire someone to run a second machine to mow this fast. I only gave 2500 for it, so if it holds together I don't think it'll take long to pay for itself.

$2500 for a Hesston 8200 in usable condition? Wow, that's a real steal. I've seen average condition Hesston 6000-series machines bring twice that much at auction and they are an older and more antiquated design. Hope it treats you well.

At that price it came with a brand new battery and starter installed and they even drove it to my house. I did have to fab up some tin work for under the auger and i put one knife on it. They didn't keep the machine very well cleaned off. The a/c even works. I couldn't say no for what they were asking.
