As you may recall; it has an add-on spin-on hydraulic filter and reservoir for the bucket. This was probably added
when a road maintenance dept. owned it many years ago for easier maintenance. I bought it and it started blowing up filters.
After rain stopped, I dug into the "Cross" brand filter head looking for a check valve at the suggestion of the former owner
and former co-worker. There it was and didn't seem to be repeating it's location properly. Pulled it, put everything back
together and tried it - no blown filter. The original equipment filter had been removed. Fortunately it can be purchased through
the Case/IH dealer in Crawfordsville (Indiana). I'll take two!
So as Joe (Wa) suggested; I'm back to the original equipment. I'll leave the add-on in place. With no stinkin check valve.
