off -topic . ridding slimey snails from my front porch

never had this problem in 34years living here ,it developed over the summer monthes these snails are as big as my thumb , and potentially es-cargo if i understood exactly what we have here.they leave slime tracks on the indoor /outdoor carpet . the 10 cats out there that live under the wood porch seem to co-exist , you would think they would consider them a delicacy. wonder what i could use to make them leave or kill them off ?
 
Thankfully, I've never had your problem, I GOOGLED it just for giggles, suggestions ranged from sprinkling some salt in the area, or letting 'em have it with meat tenderizer. (OUCH!)

Don't think either would put the freeloading cats at risk?
 
Any garden center will have snail killer,it takes a lot of salt to kill them under a deck. BTDT
 
get some slug killer called "bug getta" i had the same problem and this stuff will sure get rid of them. if i remember right the product that kills is called mataldicide, spelling might not be right....
 
Thanks guys ,,.My Cats do a good job as mousers , THey are ON It ,.and who knows how many snails they have swallowed ? If ANY ? Snails are Big , And probably someone here WOULD SAY , "Man That is PRIME dinner , cook them with cornmeal " .. and it truly would be a nice delicacy
