Woodchuck Fumigator

The 6hp engine I'm using to fumigate woodchucks under my building came off a direct drive pressure washer. Obviously there is no load. Problem I'm having is the governor bounces a little. Don't think it's running lean?? Is there a way to smooth it out?

Thank you,
Glenn F.

Most often they are lean. you can find out if lean is the issue by taking the air filter off and placing your finger partially over the air intake hole. This acts like a choke. if it smooths out as you begin to cover the hole it is lean. Most do not have adjustable main jets, so using number drills to enlarge the jet is needed. My set of drills allows me to fit one in the existing jet exactly, then choose a next size larger and ream it out. Do not go 3 sizes bigger, one drill size makes a nice difference. Jim

You are right. Choke out a little & it smooths right out. Not sure how it worked on the direct drive pressure washer? Also want to slow it down.

Using a piece of bale wire. (or a substitute) make a small "S" hook about 1/4 inch long and put it in the link to the governor spring. Jim
