IH 504 Gas Surging and dying under load

Was cutting fields and gas motor starts surging and dying after 30 min when under load. Let sit five min and starts up and does same thing after 30 min again. Had similar problem once before and carb was loose at manifold but not problem now. Any ideas folks? Gas line and air cleaner seem good.

Is tha ta gravity flow system as for fuel. If yes pull the carb drain plug the moment it acts up and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas that will fill a pint jar in less then 3 minutes. You might also pull the gas cap off and se if it run well with the cap off. If it does the cap vent is clogged and pulling a vacuum in the tank which slows gas flow

Bad coil.

2X bad coil. No tractor will run five minutes under load with slow fuel.
