I am a Ford guy. The old 4 cylinder engines had to come out to replace the rear main seal. You don't want to do bearings without doing the rear seal. You may be able to get it 90% done from underneath, but you will still need total it out. Splitting takes an our each way on one of those. You will save four hours being able to do it from above. Yes, it is a massive job compared to changing spark plugs, small job compared to remodeling your kitchen. I can't help with the sleeves.

There are many ways to do things, but I for one will not do an inframe. An inframe is a half azz job at best. We remove the block and press the sleeves in and out with a hydraulic press. We mic the crank and cam ,regrind or replace as necessary recondition the head and connecting rods . We do not use the old pistons either, but it is your engine and your pocketbook.

We replaced the liners on our 165 with the Perkins
in frame. Had a puller to pop the old ones out...
welded a bit o the inside of the sleeves to help them
shrink and come out easier.
We just put the new ones in the freezer for a while
and had the block clean and warm, they dropped in
fine.
Just needed to get the old girl running again, not the
best but it can be done.

165 could have a 203 or a 212, make sure you have your engine build number &/or ENGINE serial number before you order parts.

Not all that hard to do but depending on why you want to do it you can throw good money after bad. A crank shaft should be check and if out of spec be turned. If you do a rebuild and the crank shaft has problem you can end up with a big piece of scrap iron due to a rod out the side of the block
