If I set the timing marks on the pump do I have set the engine to TDC?

Yes, but it needs to be number one cylinder on TDC. You should line the marks up before you take it off.

Look on the valve cover, see if the valve and timing spec is there. If I recall the timing is not TDC, maybe 6 or 8 before. Align the PUMP marks first, then see where the flywheel is as pump turns 1/2 engine speed.

How do you get the last nut off the pump inside by engine u shaped wrench?
