been welding hard face on a plow blade welds fine till I have to stop and restart the weld then the rod wants to stick to the blade, I'm using a dc machine on electrode pos. which is what the rod calls for would I be better to try electrode neg. Im using 1/8 in hardface rod thanks

Hello grizz02,

Usually that means that the heat is a tad too low. Have you tried a little more heat?

Guido.

Some rods work better to start, after the initial ark with a tap on the floor, to chip the flux melted over the end of the rod. Or any hard surface like that. Just not on the welding table for the spark in the eyes.
