One of those days....

when everything went my way! My D21 has needed a waterpump since I bought it. I finally researched what I needed this morning, and found out it was the same pump that was on a seized motor I had in the barn. Checked it out and it was a replacement pump, and appeared in good shape. I pulled them both off the engines, only to find that the rock chucks had eaten half the upper radiator hose! I knew I had some NOS hoses on the shelf, and sure enough I had that hose (saved me $80!). So, free pump, free hose, had a tube of gasket maker laying there so the tractor is fixed (hopefully). Now if only those two big batteries will come back to life.....

(quoted from post at 21:11:24 08/13/18) Fill the cells on them batteries and put the charger on them over night. I got a good feeling about them.

They've only been dead for 2 years LOL!

(quoted from post at 21:55:45 08/13/18) Ever try a spoonful of epsom salt in each cell, then charging? Me neither- just heard about it.

I need to try that, way too many dead batteries on this farm!

I bought a battery charger with the desulfater built in. I have used it on a couple of batteries and I (think) they appear to have more power to them than they did. I don't know that that is the cure but I think it has helped.

I love it when I have the parts on hand,I just finished putting about 500$ worth of parts on a NH baler if the parts had come from NH.Fortunately for me they came off a
parts baler I bought for $50.

Something came across my computer about bringing ANY battery back to life, unfortunately it was long winded and had to go from screen to screen and I never got to the answer but I would sure like to revisit it but can't find it.

You need to be very careful with those as the high frequency can fry the brain box if your machine has one. I had bad(ish) batteries in my White 4-175, bought one of those chargers and put it on with the batteries still connected (my fault entirely) and it fried the electronic box that rant the tach, engine readouts, etc.

I put the charger on this morning, started at 6.6V, last I checked they were over 8, so things aren't looking too bad.
