Just acquired this 1930 D. From what I've been told these tires are B-29 bomber tires. Eventually I will have to change them out so
thought I'd try to find the size of tires these are and just replace with the same size in a tractor tire. There is no tire size marking on
these tires except for a 56 SC on the side. Any one have any idea what size they might be. The rimes are homemade cut offs and are 26-28
inches inside the rims

I had a set of those once. They were 18x26. The rims were homemade,as yours appear to be also. When I swapped to to regular tractor tires I found the aircraft tires were bigger around. the tractor tires would not fit the rim. I ended up 'shrinking' the rim. A lot of work involveing cutting the spokes loose, cutting a section out,'sucking' it together with a comealong, welding it back together welding the spokes back to the rim, grinding everything smooth.....A lot of WORK!This was on an F12 Farmall, the tires are 14.9x26 from a JD 55 combine.

I believe the B-29 tire size was 56"x16"x28". The equivalent in modern size would be close to 16.9x28 or 420/85-28

Thanks guys for the info. I am going to use them for now. I think there cool but eventually I want a tractor tire.
