Dad bought one of those new in 1970,
except his was power shift. I remember
going to town with him and my older
brother to pick it up. I was 8 at the
time and I was SO mad that dad
wouldn't let me drive it home and let
my older brother do it. Lol that is a
great pic!

Nice tractor with some style to it. I always wonder why CASE did not have a larger percentage of the market. Their tractor with the 70 series where pretty good/rugged. Very few around here.

Unhappy dealers maybe, CASE dealers may not have been in agreement with the factory as to what they needed for as quantity and types of machines. An aggressive dealer might be better off selling another brand.

The local dealer demo'ed an 870 and a 1070 on our farm when they first came out. Mother made me go to school that day and I prayed all day that they would still be at it when I got
home. They were just packing up to leave when I got off the bus. I ran out to the field as fast as I could. They left me make a round with the 870 But I so wanted to plow with the
big 1070. Our biggest tractor at the time was the 700 Case.
