I need some wire the same size a stiffness as metal coat hangers.

I looked at the orange box store and they had 14-Gauge Galvanized Steel Wire.
It was a bit to small but I could make it work if it was just stiffer.

I need the wire stiff enough you can shove it threw a piece of raw chicken but small enough you can bend it into a 1 inch circle with lineman plyers.

Lol if I was not pretty sure what you were going to do with the wire and raw chicken I would have to wonder about your post. Lol

ow about a metal coat hangar. Burn the coating off first

Do you need the bent circle on both ends?

You can buy stainless skewers with a loop on one end. Could you stick one in each way?

Have to be careful what kind of wire you use with food. Definitely not galvanized!

Galvanized would be best.
This is not food grade.
It is to hold blue crab bait and will go in salt water.
I have used free cloths hangers in the past but they are harder to find now.
The circle on the end gives the wire some spring so the clamp stays closed.

A few pictures of what I want to do.

If it were me, I'd first find the right kind of wire for my needs; stainless, galvanized, copper, etc. Then, if I couldn't find wire as stiff/thick as I needed, then simply take what I "can" find and make a 2- or 3-strand wire that will suit my needs. A drill makes quick work of twisting wires.

John I use High tensile fence wire. It is springy. I make pins like you pictured to hold hitch pins in. It is galvanized 12.5 gauge.

High tensile fence wire.

Looking at the pictures girls back in the 60's used something like you make like a giant safety pin to pin wrap around skirts.Don't know if they still sell them or not.

Wish you were near SJ. At work all of the uniforms come back on Stainless Steel hangers! Would be perfect for what you want. Check some local dry cleaners and also some big garages that have uniform service. Ask what type of hangers they get back. The company work uses is CINTAS. They are a fairly good quality stainless.
