It's 91 at the official station in Austin at 10:20 pm. Down to 87 out here in the Onion Creek Valley. Summer is here. Supposed to get to 108 Sunday/Monday. gripe, gripe,
gripe.

Real nice here on the coast today. 17-22 dC , one more day tomorrow and then warming up for Sunday through Wed 29-31C while I'm transplanting a couple acres of cranberry plugs😰

Driving home from San Antonio yesterday, driving up 281 the thermometer in the car bounced from 107 to 109.

The official high in Burleson was 110, thermometer at home said 111.

Weather guessers are saying a couple degrees higher today and tomorrow!

I checked the thermometer on the porch yesterday afternoon; 109. I have started winding up my day around 1-2. Come in, take a shower and enjoy the AC. Time to get out the winter time hobbies and get after it.

Sure glad I don't have to mess with those temps anymore!! Course, the humidity rarely let it get to 100F in the SE portion of the state.

They say dry heat is better.....for me, it's all bad. I gotta be a good boy, cause it's the '[i:bdd2f70127][b:bdd2f70127]burning[/b:bdd2f70127] in Hell[/i:bdd2f70127]' that I'm most afraid of! *lol*

Was watching the weather channel (214 on Dish) the other day and they explained why. Dry air absorbs your perspiration better than moist air.....bigger
differential increases attraction. "Heat of vaporization" is how the body keeps cool with sweat evaporating. Makes sense.

Having been born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, 85 degrees at 85% humidity as was always the case down there is hotter than the 109 I had
yesterday with 24% humidity......just like +30F at 85% was bone chilling even without a wind chill factor.
