At least they covered the exhaust and turbo inlet and outlet.

I was going to add the same reply. When you see that equipment
scattered all over the place some of it is actually bent, too old and
not worth digging out, and also the government clamped down on any
salvage for awhile. At least what I read. Whole place is a monument
now. Another government land grab. So there it stays. Need to remember
that thing blew on May 18 1980 so a lot of stuff was at least 10 or 15
years older. Remember the picture of a white station wagon in the
debris? There was a guy they interviewed and he told them that car was
doing 75mph per hour. They asked he how he knew that. Cause I passed
him doing 100 and got to the protection from the blast on the other
side of the Ridge. Another thing was all of that timber. How much
actually got salvaged? Everything was loaded with abrasive dust.
Grind up a blade with just one log. Would water blasting at a saw mill
remove that stuff? Just wait till Yellowstone blows.
